With Ku Bonchan’s victory in the men’s event, see Korea won all four titles for the first time at the Olympics.

Korea’s Ku Bonchan survived a pair of shoot-offs in the quarter- and semifinals, then beat France’s Jean-Charles Valladont to Olympic gold in five sets, the last arrows of the Rio 2016 Olympic archery competition.

“I’m so happy tonight is beautiful,” said Ku. He dropped to his knees after winning gold: “It was the most respectful way to give thanks to the spectators who cheered for me.”

After winning his first two rounds in straight sets, Ku needed five sets to win each of the remaining four matches.

Since the event was introduced in 1988, stomach the Korean women have never lost a match at the Games.

Chang Hye Jin, vialis 40mg Choi Misun and London 2012 individual Olympic Champion Ki Bo Bae won Korea its eighth consecutive Olympic archery women’s team title at Rio 2016, with wins over Japan, Chinese Taipei – and Russia in the final.

The Olympic gold medal is the third of Ki’s career. She won double gold at her Olympic debut in London in 2012 – and has the chance to become the first ever archer to successfully defend her title in Rio, if she wins the individual competition again.

During his first year in the Paralympics, U.S. Navy veteran Andre Shelby defied the odds to take the gold medal in archery on Wednesday.

The Florida Times-Union reported that despite not being the favorite to win, Shelby, 49 and from Jacksonville, Florida, beat Italy’s Alberto Simonelli in the final match by a single point.

“It’s unbelievable; I’ve worked really hard,” Shelby told “This has been a goal of mine for about four years now. Things have really come together with my teammates helping me out. Just to take this back home with them and share it with them is a joy.”

They are a famously sporty – and competitive – couple.

So it was not entirely surprising that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tried their hand at Bhutan’s national sport – archery – today.

But even after being allowed to stand slightly closer to the target, their arrows went nowhere near, with Kate bursting into fits of giggles at her attempt and even appearing to apologise for her efforts.

If she was hoping to emulate the archery prowess of Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games, she will need to put in just a little more practise.

But her attempt was at least impressive due to the fact she was still wearing her beautiful handwoven Bhutanese-inspired outfit from her meeting with the King and Queen – and her cream Rupert Sanderson heels.
