No. 9 Florida State (10-2), the ACC team that beat Florida last weekend, joins Clemson and North Carolina in the top 10 but has no real playoff hope. The Tar Heels do, even though they are ranked behind three two-loss teams, including No. 7 Stanford — set to play in the Pac-12 championship game against USC on Saturday (7:45 ET, ESPN).

North Carolina would need significant help to make the playoff, not to mention a victory over the favored (and unbeaten) Tigers. Clemson won the teams’ meeting last year 50-35.

No. 1 Clemson won’t be as limited in its preparation for Monday’s College Football Playoff championship against No. 2 Alabama as originally believed.

The NCAA on Wednesday granted the Tigers relief in regard to limits on practice time and rules about players missing classes, the school announced Thursday.

Clemson would have been restrained by NCAA rules preventing in-session schools from practicing or holding team meetings for more than four hours per day or 20 hours per week. Clemson’s spring semester began Wednesday.

Clemson held its team banquet in the Clemson Indoor Facility Saturday night, viagra handing out a wide variety of awards.

Deshaun Watson, Wayne Gallman, Shaq Lawson and Greg Huegel were all honored as most valuable players of the Clemson football team.

Watson and Gallman won Tiger Pride Awards (Most Valuable Player) for the offense, while Lawson won the same honor for the defense. Kicker Greg Huegel won the Tiger Pride Award for the special teams.

Watson became the first player in FBS history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in the same season. Gallman set a Clemson record with 1,527 yards rushing. Lawson led the nation in total tackles for loss from his defensive end position with 25.5, and Huegel led the nation in field goals with 27.

I am thankful to have a coach like Dabo Swinney. Not only is he one of the best coaches in the country, price coach Swinney is one of the best men in all of college football. Dabo is a high character individual and he will stand up for what he believes in.




Pregame: The 3rd-ranked Clemson Tigers face their toughest remaining test in their pursuit of a second ACC championship game berth in a row. No. 12 Florida State is perfect against Clemson in Tallahassee since 2006 and they are meeting as Top 25 teams for the sixth consecutive year.

Clemson has won 21 straight regular-season games, sale but is 3-12 all-time in games at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Tigers are in prime position for a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Seminoles find themselves in a rare position as a home underdog.




Deshaun Watson accounted for three total touchdowns before sitting out the remainder of the game with a bruised shoulder, and the No. 2 Clemson Tigers cruised to a 54-0 shutout of the visiting Syracuse Orange on Saturday.

Clemson didn’t skip a beat without Watson anyway, outscoring Syracuse 24-0 in the second half en route to the win.

The crucial ACC primetime showdown at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla., will have a major impact on the College Football Playoff.




Clemson is still in a driver’s seat for a playoff spot, ask and staying undefeated will keep any doubt away. The Tigers are on track to draw four solid but not high-ceiling opponents down the stretch. COLUMBIA, S.C. — Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said the school is honoring quarterback Deshaun Watson, tailback Wayne Gallman and receivers Mike Williams and Artavis Scott, all juniors, because they are heading to the NFL after this season.

“Those guys indicated to me back in the summer that this was going to be it for them,” Swinney said Tuesday. “They were going to graduate in December, and their plan was to be a senior. They’re more seniors than some of the seniors.”

The group will be honored at Senior Day on Saturday when the third-ranked Tigers host Pitt. It’s an honor reserved for players who aren’t returning.
