The Dallas Cowboys ended their offseason program on June 15. Here’s a look at how they fared:

Offseason goals/grade: Coming off a 13-3 season, the Cowboys knew this would be an offseason marked by change on defense. They lost seven starters or key contributors to their defense in Barry Church, Brandon Carr, Terrell McClain, Morris Claiborne, J.J. Wilcox and Jack Crawford to free agency and did not make any major free-agent additions. The club’s reasoning was that it needed new blood for a defense that had been somewhat stagnant.

Tony Romo will join a new team in a few weeks because the Dallas Cowboys don’t believe in jinxes or sophomore slumps.

The Cowboys will either trade or release Romo, allowing him to continue his career as a starting quarterback instead of as Dak Prescott ’s backup.

FRISCO, Texas — Visions of Jason Pierre-Paul in a Dallas Cowboys uniform might dance in some fans’ heads, but Pro Football Focus offered up a different pass-rusher to wear the star — Nick Perry.

In picking one free agent for every team, PFF selected Perry, who put up 23.5 sacks in his first five seasons with the Green Bay Packers, including a career-high 11 in 2016.

FRISCO, Texas — For the third time since 2010, the Dallas Cowboys will play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game with owner and general manager Jerry Jones getting inducted that weekend.

The result of that contest against Arizona will be meaningless, and though the game might be something of a nuisance, what matters more to the coaches will be the practice time. The Cowboys will get a two-week head start on training camp with a possible reporting date to Oxnard, California, coming on July 18 and practice a day or two later.
