When Jay Ajayi rushed for 200 yards in back-to-back games, site we knew he was in pretty rarified air because only three other backs have accomplished the feat.

Thursday, we learned how rare the air is up there.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced it is displaying the No. 23 jersey Ajayi wore when he rushed for 214 yards in the 28-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills. A week earlier, Ajayi gained 204 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ajayi’s jersey is now in display in Canton, Ohio, in the “Pro Football Today” gallery “alongside numerous other artifacts from recent history-making moments around the NFL,” the Hall said.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Jarvis Landry apologized for his block that injured Aaron Williams on Sunday. Landry said he wished he could take it back and offered little defense when asked if the hit was dirty.

“Call it what you want,” Landry said. “It’s football.”

The NFL is certain to look at the play closely. Officials flagged the Miami Dolphins receiver Sunday for unnecessary roughness, and some of Williams’ Buffalo Bills teammates thought the block was worse than that.

“Definitely a cheap hit,” cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman said.

Williams missed the second half with a head and neck injury, and he went to a hospital for an MRI before flying back to Buffalo with the team. The veteran safety missed most of last season because of a neck injury that required surgery and threatened his career.

When the Miami University football team plays host to Ball State University on Tuesday, November 22, history will be up for grabs. Not only would a win make the RedHawks bowl eligible for the first time since 2010, the Red and White also have a chance to etch their name into NCAA history.

When the RedHawks square off with the Cardinals under the lights at Yager Stadium a win would move Miami to 6-6 overall after opening the season 0-6. No team in the history of college football has ever accomplished this feat.

Two teams were close. The 1988 Tennessee Volunteers and 1971 Illinois Fighting Illini both began seasons 0-6 and won their final five contests to finish 5-6. Each team only played 11 games that season.

What three things mattered in the Miami spring football game and what to take away from the scrimmage.

Brad Kaaya is good at playing college football

Mark Richt has a very, very good player to rebuild the franchise around.

Miami might not be all that far away from being a true player in the ACC again, but it doesn’t have the talent of Clemson or Florida State. Fortunately, those two aren’t in the Coastal. So as long as the Hurricanes can go into every division game with the best quarterback on the field, they should be okay.
