Mississippi Rebels vs Florida State Seminoles CFB Preview Monday 9-5-2016

The first full week of the 2016 CFB season concludes this evening as the SEC Mississippi Rebels battle the ACC Florida State Seminoles. This game will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, cure Florida. The Rebels went 10-3 last year and look for another double digit win season, viagra dosage while the Seminoles are off a 10-3 season of their own and are one of the favorites to make it to the NCAA Playoffs.

Vegas odds have the Seminoles listed as 5.5 point favorites, while the total has been set at 59.5. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm EDT and will be televised on ABC.

The Mississippi Rebels had a strong 10-3 season last year, which culminated in a 48-20 win over Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl. This year they have just 10 starters back but one is Heisman candidate QB, so they will again be an explosive team, but reaching double digit wins may be a bit tough. The Florida State Seminoles went 10-3 last year, but fell 38-24 to Houston in the Peach Bowl. They have 16 starters back, including all 11 on offense and are primed for a run at a national title.
Mississippi’s Offense Vs Florida State’s Defense

The Rebels were a very explosive offensive team last year as they put up 40.8 ppg on 518 ypg and a big reason for that is the QB play of Chad Kelly, who threw for 4042 yards with 31 TDs and just 13 INTs, while also rushing for 500 yards and 10 TDs. A true heisman candidate this year, but his job will not be easy this year as they lose their top two WRs from last year, including Laquon Treadwell, who had 1153 yards receiving and 11 TDs last year. They also lose top RB Jaylen Walton and three of five starters along the OL. That line will be starting two freshmen and could have trouble vs a stout FSU front wall. Still, this will again be an explosive offense that should be able to score on anyone.

The Seminoles allowed just 17.5 ppg last year and with 6 starters back and very good depth, they could be just as good this year. They have also recruited well on this side of the ball with the #1 DB in the country, the #6 DL and #5 LB. Wow. Now that is reloading. The Noles are rated 9th in the nation along the DL and they have the 12th rated LB corps and that front seven will go up against the weak link of this Ole Miss offense, which is their OL. That will be the crucial battle in this game, but still look for the Rebels to find away to get their points in this one.

Florida State’s Offense vs Mississippi’s Defense

The Noles on offense are loaded as they bring back all 11 starters from a team that averaged 31.7 ppg. That is rather average these days in CFB, but you can bet that they will at least put up a TD per game more this year. Despite having all 11 starters back, it looks like they will be going with redshirt freshman Deondre Francois, who was the #9 QB out of highschool. His big weapon will be out of the backfield in Dalvin Cook, who ran for 1691 yards and 19 TDs last year. They also have their top 9 receivers from last year, including their top three, who all had at least 57 catches last year. Oh and let’s not forget about their third rated OL in the nation. This is a scary offense.
