OKLAHOMA CITY — USA Softball and ESPN have reached a multi-year agreement that will establish the ESPN networks as the home of select World Cup of Softball games through 2020.  Starting this year at the World Cup of Softball XII, ESPN will have the production and distribution rights for four USA Softball games and the Championship Game for each World Cup of Softball. All telecasts will be available for live streaming via the ESPN app.

Skaneateles, NY — Reggie Buell graduated from Skaneateles High School last month with impeccable credentials and a unique decision.

He was in the Top 20 of his class academically.

As a senior, he also earned first-team All-CNY honors in three separate sports: soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse.

Earle (Ark.) High Top247 quarterback Gerry Bohanon took his first visit to Baylor this week.

The top signal-caller on the board as summer comes to an end for Matt Rhule and his staff, the four-star recruit left Waco feeling good about the Bears.

“That visit was honestly like no other seriously,” Bohanon said. He’s fresh off trips to Ole Miss and Louisville as well. “The best visit I’ve ever taken. I feel the love at Baylor.”

Schertz (Texas) Samuel Clemens Top247 receiver Tommy Bush was back at Baylor over the weekend where he continued to learn more about the Bears program.

“My visit to Baylor was great,” Bush said. “I got to see the receivers doing some work and a little red zone as well. Also got to see the receivers coach and Coach (Matt) Rhule coach, and what he said to the whole team, plus see the speed of practice and how they divide up the reps between receivers was very important to me.

“Enjoyed just talking family with the coaches and had some BBQ.”

The Bears have been a program Bush has spoken highly of throughout the process.

(Leipzig, Germany) – Two U.S. teams fenced for medals today at the Senior World Championships with the U.S. Women’s Foil Team winning silver for the first time in history and the U.S. Men’s Saber Team placing fourth.

Bringing home its second ever Senior World Championship medal, the U.S. Women’s Foil Team advanced to the medal rounds for the first time since the 2001 Senior Worlds when Team USA won bronze. This is the third time the squad has reached the podium on one of the world’s largest stages and follows the 2008 team’s silver medal win at the Beijing Olympic Games.

Alexander Massialas maintained his good form to win the Shanghai Grand Prix

The American had a closely fought battle in the semi-final with local boy Chen Haiwei.

The two were head to head all along, with no quarter given. They finished the fight with the closest possible result, 15-14, still within the first period.

Massialas encountered less resistance in the final against Lee Kwanghyun of Korea. The American made light work of his opponent to win by 15 points to five.

As the Big 12 presidents and chancellors were wrapping up their summer board meeting in Irving, Texas, last July, one prominent school official was driving to a dinner when he flipped on his satellite radio. Instantly recognizing the voice of Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby over the airwaves, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

The Big 12, Bowlsby declared, would officially begin to explore expansion.
