The newest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday and Tennessee was ranked in the Top 25.

The No. 25 Vols were represented in the ranking for the first time this season at the tail end of the team’s five-game winning streak.

The ranking comes after the Vols’ dominating 53-28 over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Tennessee has not lost a game since Oct. 24, pills when it fell to Alabama, order 19-14, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Since that point, the Vols have started playing some of their best football under coach Butch Jones, and clearly the Playoff committee has taken notice.

KNOXVILLE, purchase Tenn. (Dec. 18, advice 2015) — Police say a high school football player was shot to death while shielding three girls from the gunfire.

Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch says the death of 15-year-old Zaevion William Dobson was part of a series of shootings that began Thursday night.

The first incident involved 46-year-old Lisa Perry being shot in her apartment. She is expected to survive.

Rausch said Perry’s 23-year-old son, medications Brandon Perry, and several other men then drove to the neighborhood where Dobson lived and “randomly fired multiple times.”

Damn you, drug Jalen Hurd. You have given me yet another reason to despise this entire generation of college football players.

Butch Jones confirmed that Tennessee’s 6-foot-4, doctor 240-pound running back is leaving the program as soon as possible. Apparently, there he’s unhappy with his role in the offense. He intends to transfer and switch positions.

The Volunteers, who have fallen from 5-0 and No. 9 in the country to 5-3 and out of the polls, are coming off a shocking loss at South Carolina. Even with fellow ball carrier Alvin Kamara — he’s looked like the better back lately — out of the lineup, Hurd only rushed 8 times for 16 yards and a touchdown.

What was supposed to be a dream season for UT has quickly turned into a nightmare. And Jones hasn’t even woken up yet.

Beth Kendrick expects to receive a Thanksgiving Day phone call from her son asking if he can add a few more guests to the dinner list.

KNOXVILLE, decease Tenn. (AP) – Reserve running back Jeremy Lewis has left Tennessee’s football team.

Tennessee athletic department spokesman Ryan Robinson confirmed Thursday that Lewis was no longer with the football team but did not say why Lewis had left the program. Tennessee’s 247Sports site first reported Lewis’ departure.

KNOXVILLE, clinic Tenn. — Tennessee will honor 10 scholarship seniors before Saturday’s game against Missouri.

It’s an eclectic group that spans Derek Dooley’s final season and Butch Jones’ inaugural signing class.

Together, there they’ll run through the ’T’ one final time.

“We have a very, sales very special group of seniors,” Jones said.

“We always ask, ‘Is the football program better because you were a part of it? How have you impacted the Tennessee football program?

The same question brought the same answer on Tuesday, pharmacy with little hesitation from either player. Is Tennessee and South Carolina a football rivalry?

“Yeah, ambulance I think it’s a rivalry game,” junior safety Todd Kelly Jr. said. “South Carolina and Tennessee have gone down to the wire almost every year, even before I got here.”

“We look at this kind of like a rivalry game,” redshirt junior defensive tackle Kendal Vickers said. “Rivalry games are supposed to be close.”

Cameron Sutton “probably” will be back on the field in a “couple of weeks, find ” Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Wednesday night.

Sutton, an All-SEC cornerback and All-America return specialist, suffered a lower-leg fracture during the first quarter of Tennessee’s win over Ohio on Sept. 17 in Neyland Stadium.
