It was a beautiful spring morning on campus today. The sun was shining. It was you would expect from a perfect day during Spring quarter.

What made it more perfect was that football was being played.

Spring practice is a time for learning and there was a lot of learning going on. While the talking points might say that UCLA doesn’t have a new system, the approach of the coaching staff appears to be very instructive as there do seem to be a lot of changes to the Bruins’ offensive and defensive systems..

UCLA held another practice Friday morning, medications which was notable specifically because it was the first practice in full pads. For me, full pad practices means we’re closer than ever to the start of the actual season, but it also increases the chances of injuries. So, let’s get into this practice.

The biggest non-pads development of the practice is the offense’s continued development. Gone are the days of “5 plays on the napkin”, but, at the same time, the offense that’s been seen in practice really has eluded the definition of “pro-style”. For example, in today’s practice, we saw an actual quarterback rollout. I’ve heard tales that this could exist in an offense, but I did not truly believe until this day. Mar. 9 — Cordell Broadus, the four-star receiver prospect and son of rapper Snoop Dogg, will return to the UCLA football program this spring…

According to sources, Cordell Broadus is returning to the football field.

The former four-star receiver prospect from the 2015 recruiting class, and the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, walked away from his football career last August at the start of UCLA’s fall camp.

When Cade was just five years old, case he underwent two surgeries to remove a benign tumor from his brain, remedy but he suffered a stroke after the second surgery which left him paralyzed on his right side and legally blind.
