LONDON (AP) — Washington and the Cincinnati Bengals played to a 27-27 draw Sunday in London as the NFL got its second tied game in a season for the first time since 1997.

The sold-out crowd of 84, cure 000 at Wembley Stadium left deflated and even puzzled as the regulation-time shootout between Kirk Cousins and Andy Dalton turned into an overtime comedy of errors.

America came to know Chris Petersen a decade ago through his use of gimmicks. If there’s anything we liked more than the hook-and-ladder he called for Boise State to tie Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, capsule it was the Statue of Liberty two-point conversion he designed to win it. He put Boise on the map, order as more than the capital of Idaho. He loved it there, prostate on his blue field, until it came time for him to leave it, for the emerald city of Seattle, where his fortunes have taken a turn for the fabulous.

Now in his third year as Washington’s coach, Petersen has the Huskies 8-0 and ranked No. 4 by The Associated Press. You hope that if this trend continues, the College Football Playoff selection committee will wise up and include Petersen’s team in its Final Four. The CFP rankmeisters overlooked Washington – tabbing the Huskies No. 5 – in its first foursome released this week, favoring Texas A&M, which lost a game this season by 19 points.

Last week, Texas A&M was the surprise No. 4 team in the College Football Playoff rankings. After losing to Mississippi State last Saturday and proving it doesn’t belong at the top, we’ll see a new team take over the fourth spot this week when the rankings are unveiled at 7 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN.

The top three should stay the same, as Alabama, Clemson and Michigan all won. The question this week is whether another one-loss team has the resume to jump undefeated Washington for the fourth spot in the rankings, or if the Huskies will claim the spot that should have been theirs last week.

At age 55 and going into his 15th season as a head football coach, physician Leach firmly believes one reason he had success at Texas Tech and is now seeing success at WSU is that he never dwells on yesterday’s successes and never stops moving forward.

Washington State football coach Mike Leach absolutely detests all questions about milestones and legacies.

He made this abundantly clear at Pac-12 Media Days in July when, ailment sparked by a reporter’s inquiry about which questions he dislikes most, Leach dived into an animated two-minute response – complete with wild hand gestures and highly entertaining facial contortions – about how inane it is to ask a sitting football coach to define the significance of beating any specific team.

SEATTLE — After years of losses, the Garfield Bulldogs are on a roll, and winning every single game so far this season, in part because they’re playing for a lot more than a football title.

When San Francisco 49er’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick chose not to stand for the national anthem, linebacker Jason Nguyen was not impressed.

“My first initial thought was like, ‘Oh why is he doing this and like disrespecting America?’ But over the time I started to learn about it more,” Nguyen said.

A SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN: For the second year in a row, pharmacy ESPN is on the Utah campus to broadcast its popular “College GameDay” preview show Saturday (6 a.m. to 9 a.m. PT). The show’s arrival adds an air of excitement to the matchup, ambulance and a sold-out crowd of about 46,000 is expected at one of the Pac-12’s most intimidating venues. The matchup could be a preview of the Pac-12 championship game and will implications in the College Football Playoff chase. The CFP committee will release its first rankings of the season Tuesday, and a win would certainly boost UW’s chances at top-four ranking; a loss would almost certainly eliminate Utah from playoff consideration.

The Huskies are widely acknowledged to be the most dangerous opponent yet for the Utes, unhealthy and it seems they are a far cry from the team Utah beat by 11 in Seattle last year. What’s changed for Washington — both on the field and off — and why have they been so successful?

After its 41-17 rout of Oregon State on Saturday, sildenafil Washington rose one spot to No. 4 in both The Associated Press Top 25 and the coaches poll released Sunday morning.

Ohio State dropped four spots to No. 6 in the AP poll after getting upset at Penn State.

Utah, meanwhile, climbed two spots to No. 17 after its 52-45 victory at UCLA on Saturday. The Huskies (7-0, 4-0 Pac-12) have opened as an 11-point favoritea gainst the Utes (7-1, 4-1) heading into Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. PT kickoff (FS1).
