Florida State running back Dalvin Cook took the handoff from quarterback Deondre Francois off the left side, pharm put his foot in the ground, illness and promptly ran to the top of the Seminole record books on Saturday afternoon against the Syracuse Orange.

It happened in the first quarter of FSU’s game against the Orange in New York, and as Cook bested Warrick Dunn’s career mark of 3,959 rushing yards, a record set in 1996. Cook began the game with 3,941 career rushing yards, just 18 yards behind Dunn, and was able to run past ‘Cuse to set the new Seminole standard at the running back position in front of those in attendance at the Carrier Dome.
