Albert Chien notched a third place finish at the NCAA Regionals(Gil Talbot).

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  – The No. 8 Harvard men’s fencing team sent 10 members of the team to compete in the NCAA Regional Championships hosted by Yale on Sunday, March 12.

Eli DershwitzEric ZhaoPhilippe Guy and Erwin Caitook the strips for Harvard in the men’s sabre category. Dershwitz was first up for the Crimson. In his first round, the sophomore breezed through the competition, recording a 6-0 sweep and a plus-17 touch differential to move onto the second round. Dershwitz continued on his unbeaten streak, recording an additional six wins in the second round, only allotting 14 touches against in his six bouts. Dershwitz moved onto the top-12 with ease, only dropping one bout in the finals. Dershwitz earned the gold medal in men’s sabre, finishing the final round with a 10-1 record and a plus-21 touch differential.
