LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lathrop (Mo.) High School junior Brooke Huitt was named MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week for games played the week of Sept. 11-17.

Highlighted by a perfect game against Lawson, Huitt recorded two strong outings in the circle for Lathrop. On Sept. 14, the right-handed hurler struck out 18 of the 21 batters she faced and did not allow a Lawson batter to reach base in her first perfect game and second no-hitter of the season. In her first start of the week against Maysville, Huitt allowed an earned run on three hits and fanned 12 in a complete-game victory. She also chipped in at the plate with three hits, a double and RBI. For the week, she struck out 30, did not issue a free pass and held her opposition to an .021 batting average.
